Why does it say that?

The other night I was putting Reilyn to bed and I sang a Childs Prayer to her. This is her favorite song, and she asks me to sing it almost every night to her. Well, I started, "Heavenly Father, Are you really there? And do you...."
She stopped me and asked, "Mom, why does it say THAT?"
"Say what?"
"Are you really there?"
"I don't know, that's just what the person who wrote the song wanted it to say."
"Well, He IS really there."
It was so sweet. So, I sang the song differently that night, "Heavenly Father, You are really there. And you hear and answer every child's prayer..."
She smiled.
Reilyn is starting to ask questions that you can tell she's thought about. She teaches me so much. I'm so grateful for her in my life. She is such a special girl, and I am lucky to be her mom.

I think that the children these days are such spiritual giants! I think they know & understand more at a younger age then I did. Maybe they have to in order to make it through the world today. I love that she KNOWS Heavenly Father is real and hears our prayers.
