Emergency Preparedness

We've been trying to learn about Emergency Preparedness and get our food storage in order for Family Nights. So one night, I thought we would see how prepared we were if something were to happen. I told them that we need to get everything we needed for 3 days into the car in 5 minutes, because a big tornado was coming, and we had been told to evacuate. I wasn't sure how Reilyn would react to this, be she seemed to think it was pretty fun to pack up some clothes, blankets, and food. The we sat down and talked about what we did well and what area's needed more attention. As I was putting Reilyn to bed that night, she said, mom, you can just put me in the car so we can go. I explained that it was just pretend, and that we were just seeing how fast we could get ready in an emergency. She looked at me with a worried face, and said, "but mom, the big Tomato is coming."
